"Partake" is a new event series at Middendorf's Slidell featuring delectable food and libations. Coming up on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, we'll have a "Red, Wine & Blue" Wine Tasting Dinner. We're loving this fun, patriotic twist featuring vibrant red wine and a four course gourmet meal.  We have much to celebrate because July 4th is also Middendorf’s 89th Anniversary!  Cue the sparklers.

 

We are now taking reservations for our July Partake Event —  a “Red, Wine & Blue” Wine Tasting Dinner.

The Wine:  In honor of the patriotic holiday, four red wines from across America will be showcased by Mallory Young of Southern Glazer’s Signature Fine Wines & Spirits.   They focus on luxury brands that are considered influencers in the market and among consumers.  Southern Glazer’s is the world’s preeminent distributor of wine and spirits. 

The Food:  Horst Pfeifer had fun creating the menu for this Partake event.  He took classic July 4th foods and gave them an upscale twist.   Horst loves fine dining which may sound peculiar for the owner of Middendorf’s, but he is actually a European Master Chef.  In fact, his previous restaurant was Bella Luna, a very popular fine dining restaurant in the French Quarter.  So, Horst really knows his stuff, and he has an amazing four course gourmet meal planned.

1st Course

Watermelon Salad

Julienned Prosciutto, Pickled Red Onions, Mint, Lemon Balm

Benton Lane Pinot Noir 2021, Willamette Valley, OR

2nd Course

Fried Soft Shell Crab

Roasted Corn Relish, Chipotle Remoulade Sauce

Dry Creek Zinfandel 2020, Dry Creek Valley, CA

3rd Course

Roasted Pork Tenderloin

Grilled Peach Chutney, Fennel Slaw

Hermann J. Wiemer Cabernet Franc 2019, Finger Lakes, NY

 4th Course

Lemon Blueberry Tart

Sweet and Tangy Lemon Curd, Fresh Local Blueberries, Flaky Pastry Crust

Northstar Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Columbia Valley, WA

 

Bella Luna Focaccia Bread and Whipped Butter will be available throughout the meal.

 

  • The evening begins at 6:30pm in the “Bella Luna” private dining room.  Our welcome drink – a Happy Birthday Cocktail —  will be served at this time.  Feel free to walk around and mingle.
  • At 7:00pm, we will ask for everyone to be seated.  Dinner will begin shortly.  Seating is banquet style.  This is a social event celebrating our shared love of food and wine.  Attire is business casual.
  • The price for this Wine Tasting Dinner is 100.00 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity)*.  Reservations are required.  Limited seating available.

A Taste of Italy — A Wine Tasting Dinner featuring Italian wine and a four course gourmet Italian meal. After all, September is Fettuccine Frenzy month at Middendorf’s, and we do love a theme.  Delizioso!

Partake events are held on the first Wednesday of the month.  Stay tuned for more details!  And, in case you’re wondering, we will have to take a break from Partake Events in October and November due to Oktoberfest at Middendorf’s.
