Home of the World-Famous Original Thin Fried Catfish®

It’s our favorite time of the year — Fettuccine Frenzy and Oktoberfest! It’s an exciting and extra delicious time that only comes around once a year at Middendorf’s Manchac and Middendorf’s Slidell.

Coming up first is Fettuccine Frenzy, and you don’t want to miss it.
If you haven’t had our Fettuccine before, let us tell you all about it because it is so unique.
Our Fettuccine started way back in the Bella Luna days. Bella Luna was the previous restaurant owned and operated by Middendorf’s Owners Horst and Karen Pfeifer.
It was a fine dining restaurant in the French Quarter with beautiful dining rooms and fabulous views of the city and the Mississippi River.
The menu was always impressive, and one of the most popular dishes was the Fettuccine. It was so special — handmade and rolled incredibly paper-thin. It kept guests coming back time and time again.
Sadly, the good times came to an end when Bella Luna was forced to close permanently due to Hurricane Katrina. However, the memory of Bella Luna lives on here at Middendorf’s. In 2015, we resumed production of the Fettuccine, and it has become an annual tradition.
Fettuccine Frenzy is every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in September. It’s served with Alfredo or Marinara sauce, and topped with freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. We also have optional add-ons of Shrimp, Crabmeat and Chicken.
If you want to impress your family and friends, you can also cook your own fantastic Fettuccine meal at home. Uncooked Fettuccine is available in our gift shops. And while you’re here, grab some Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese to go with it!

We’ll spotlight Oktoberfest a bit later. In the meantime, click here to learn more.
