6 Weeks of Guten Times

Guten times are finally here at Middendorf’s! The iconic Louisiana restaurant is celebrating its annual Oktoberfest tradition, bringing six weeks of authentic German food, beer and fun to both locations.

Now in its 19th year, Middendorf’s Oktoberfest has become a highly anticipated fall tradition for guests who look forward to Horst Pfeifer’s family recipes, German specialties and festive atmosphere year after year.

“My heart is so full during Oktoberfest — sharing the food I grew up eating in Germany and making everyone happy. It’s just the best time,” said Horst Pfeifer, Middendorf’s Owner and European Master Chef. “Don’t get me wrong, it’s a massive amount of work. It’s pedal to the metal for me during Oktoberfest. I’m making everything from sausage to spätzle to strudel, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Oktoberfest takes place every Wednesday and Thursday from October 7 through November 12, 2026, at both Middendorf’s Manchac and Middendorf’s Slidell. German meals are available all day, while supplies last, alongside Middendorf’s full regular menu.

Each week features a different German entrée and dessert, giving guests a new reason to come back throughout the six-week celebration. Guests who enjoy German meals during all six weeks can earn an Oktoberfest prize. Simply pick up a punch card during the first week and have it punched each time you return for an Oktoberfest meal. Bring the completed card back during the final week to claim your prize!

A variety of German-inspired appetizers will also make appearances throughout the celebration, with the selections changing from week to week based on the chef’s choice.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be Oktoberfest without beer! Middendorf’s will offer a great selection of German beers and liqueurs to complement the food and complete the Oktoberfest experience.

“It’s off-the-charts delicious, fun and full of German spirit,” says Pfeifer. “We hope everyone comes out and celebrates with us.”

Festive attire is encouraged, so guests are invited to break out their lederhosen, dirndls and Oktoberfest shirts and join the fun. Prost!
